Pinellas County Utilities South Cross Bayou Service Interruption

Pinellas County Utilities customers who receive reclaimed water from the South Cross Bayou Advanced Water Reclamation Facility will experience a temporary service interruption beginning March 11, through Wednesday, March 18. This interruption is necessary while completing the next phase of the rehabilitation project on the facility's filtration system.

This project will ensure treated water meets regulatory nitrogen limits set by Florida Department of Environmental Protection and prevent system failures that could lead to emergency spills throughout our service area. By reducing nitrogen pollution in our community, this also prevents algae blooms, which helps protect fish, wildlife and our tourism and fishing industries.

Customers will be impacted in the southern barrier islands, South Pasadena, Belleair, Seminole and Pinellas Park.
Before this outage, customers should prioritize watering essential areas/landscape that require more care, check irrigation systems settings and disable automatic timers.
