Commission Meetings

Form of Government

The City of South Pasadena has the Commission form of government.  Five Commission members are elected from the city at large, one of whom is elected as Mayor, each for four year terms.  At the first regular meeting of the City Commission in March of each year, the Commission shall designate, by majority vote, one Commissioner to be Commissioner of Public Safety, one Commissioner to be Commissioner of Public Works, one Commissioner to be Commissioner of Finance and one Commissioner to be Commissioner of Community Improvement.  The Mayor serves as the Commissioner of Administration. 

Elections

The City Clerk is responsible for conducting municipal elections and is authorized to contract with the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections www.votepinellas.com or any other qualified organization to assist the city in all aspects of the election process.

Municipal elections are held on the second Tuesday in March of each year.

All Commission meetings are broadcast live on Spectrum Cable Channel 643.  Meetings are rebroadcast the following Wednesday and Monday at 11:00 a.m.  Administrative Workshop Meetings may be canceled without public notice.  Items identified for discussion are also subject to change.  Please contact City Hall for confirmation prior to each meeting.  If necessary, a second Regular Commission Meeting can be scheduled the fourth Tuesday of month at 7:00 pm.
