Florida League of Cities’ Legislative Action Days

Last week, Vice Mayor Tom Reid traveled to Tallahassee for the Florida League of Cities’ Legislative Action Days. The FLC organizes this annual opportunity for city officials to meet with state lawmakers to advocate for local decision-making on issues impacting municipalities.

During the visit, Vice Mayor Reid met with numerous state officials including Representatives Rayner, Gonzalez-Pittman, Cross, Valdés, and Minority Leader Driscoll, as well as Senator Hooper to discuss the City’s appropriations request, property taxes, sovereign immunity, and proposed legislation.
