Firefighters from South Pasadena Fire, St. Pete Beach Fire, Madeira Beach Fire, and Treasure Island took to the water last week as part of a specialized Water Rescue Training designed to enhance lifesaving skills using rescue boats and surfboards.

The training in Maderia Beach aimed to prepare crews for surf-related and boat emergencies. The training focused on boat-based and surfboard rescues, preparing crews to rescue victims from open water safely.

Firefighters underwent various simulations, including rapid victim extraction, team coordination between boat and surf teams, and critical safety measures in extreme water conditions.
