Flood Watch & Coastal Flood Advisory

The NWS Tampa Bay office has issued a Flood Watch for our area, with the potential for rainfall-induced flooding continuing into the weekend. Additionally, a Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Friday into Saturday.

South Pasadena is anticipating up to 6 inches of rain this week, with periods of heavy rainfall possible.

These rains, combined with elevated tides and the new moon, could lead to some localized ponding and flooding in roads and other low-lying areas.

Please use caution while driving, allow extra travel time, and never drive through flooded roadways. Turn around and find an alternate route if you encounter standing or moving water.

Please note the City’s drainage system is inspected annually and monitored throughout the year, especially during storm season.

No blockages have been identified and the drains remain clear, including in the areas most prone to road flooding.

The City will continue to monitor the drainage system for functionality but residents and business owners are advised that flooding can and does occur even when all pipes and drains are clear.
