Library Card Update

Effective October 1, 2026, the annual library card rate for residents of South Pasadena will be $50.

Residents of South Pasadena may obtain a library card for use at any Pinellas Public Library Cooperative (PPLC) library countywide.

Interested residents should visit South Pasadena City Hall with proof of residency, pay the appropriate fee, and receive a voucher. The voucher is then redeemable at the St. Pete Beach Library where a card is issued.

Please note that unlike many other jurisdictions, residents of South Pasadena do not pay for countywide library services as a separate tax. Only those residents who wish to use library services are asked to pay the fee.

The total cost for a library card for a South Pasadena resident is $100 with the City subsidizing the remaining $50 of the cost once a resident’s fee is paid.
